For the largest part, the material tests comprise physical tests, carried out in our own research department. Materials and components are thoroughly tested to ensure a smooth manufacturing process and the durability of our products. Here, static, dynamic, wear-and-tear and wear physiological tests are standard.
Each component and each material has different quality requirements. Here, for instance, outsoles must pass a fatigue bending test that simulates the bending load caused by rolling over while walking. In addition to various colour fastness tests, such as rubbing fastness or light fastness, leather needs to pass many other tests before we use it for making shoes. These, for instance, include tests for elasticity or tear resistance. Among other things, jewellery parts are tested for corrosion resistance.
In addition, wear samples are given to our employees to test the shoes in everyday life.
